PURPOSE:To prevent a printing failure caused by a lamp-cut, by providing plural pieces of flash lamps, and providing a lamp-cut detecting circuit for detecting a burn-out of the flash lamp at every piece, and a lamp driving circuit for switching the flash lamp and driving it at every piece. CONSTITUTION:In an intermediate position of a carrying path L, two pieces of flash lamps 5, 6 for heating a toner on a form are provided by arranging them before and behind, and also, a detecting circuit 7 for detecting a burn-out of the lamp 5 and 6 is provided in a lamp box 3. When executing a fixation by using the flash lamp 5 of the pre-stage, if the lamp 5 causes a burn-out, its burn-out is detected by the circuit 7, and based on its detecting signal, a lamp driving circuit 4 switches the lamp 5 to the lamp 6 of the post-stage and drives it, and the flash fixation is continued. り加熱してこれを用紙に定着させる電子写真方式印刷装
置におけるフラッシュ定着器において、複数組のフラッ
シュランプを備え、フラッシュランプのランプ切れを各
組毎に検知するランプ切れ検出回路と、該ランプ切れ検
出回路からの信号に基づき、各組毎にフラッシュランプ
を切替えてこれを駆動するランプ駆動回路とを有するこ
とを特徴とするフラッシュ型定着器。
