この発明は自動車のルーフライニング、特に嵌
め込み式のルーフライニング取付方法に関するも

つて張りを与えた状態でその周縁をルーフ周辺の
ルーフパネルとルーフレールとで形成される隙間
に嵌め込むいわゆる嵌め込み式天井にあつては、
ライニング材の端縁が露出することによる外観の
低下を防止するとともに、ライニング材の保持を
確実にするために、ライニング材の全周をルーフ
周辺の隙間に嵌め込む必要があるが、ルーフ形状
に相応した略四角形のライニング材の4辺全てを
ルーフ周辺の隙間に嵌め込むことは容易でなく、
一般的にはライニング材を分割し、分割したライ
ニング材を各々単独にルーフ周辺の隙間に嵌め込
み後、その継ぎ目を帯状の抑え板で抑えるように
しているため、ライニング材の取付けに多くの工
数を要し、かつ抑え板が車室内に露出して体裁が
悪い欠点があつた。また、この抑え板は通常その
両端をルーフレールにねじ止めにて取付けるよう
にしているため、ライニング材を確実に保持する
ことができず、かつライニング材と抑え板間に隙

夫々外方に摺動させてその鉤部32を弾性を利用
してルーフレール2の端縁2aに係止する。これ
により、ライニング材1は上方に反転してルーフ
パネル4内面に略沿つて彎曲した状態でその両側
端1a,1bがルーフレール2の隙間5に嵌め込
まれ左右外方向への移動が阻止されていることに
よる自己の張り剛性と、鉤部32をルーフレール
2の端縁2aに係止したトリム3による保持力に

方に彎曲させてトリム3を嵌合していない2辺を
ルーフ周辺の隙間5に嵌め込んだ後、このライニ
ング材1を上方に反転し、次いで前記トリム3を
外方に摺動させてその鉤部32をルーフレール2
の端縁2aに係止することによりライニング材1
を取付けるものであるから、従来のようにライニ
ング材を分割しなくとも略四角形のライニング材
の4辺全てをルーフ周辺の隙間に簡単に嵌め込む
ことができる。すなわち、略四角形のライニング
材の4辺のうち、トリムを嵌合していない2辺は
ルーフ周辺の隙間に直接的に嵌め込まれ、トリム
を嵌合した2辺はトリムを介してルーフ周辺の隙
間に間接的に嵌め込まれることになる。したがつ
