(Means for Solving the Problems) Therefore, the present inventor has completed the present invention as a result of intensive research in order to solve the above problems. That is, one aspect of the present invention is a fluorescent aqueous ink containing at least a dye represented by the following general formula, sorbitan, and water.

In addition, other acidic and/or direct dyes may be added to obtain colors other than red as fluorescent inks, water-soluble surfactants may be used as penetrants, and ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, or urea may be used as pen nib desiccant agents. Alternatively, it is possible to select and add a urea derivative as appropriate.

(Function) The reason why the fluorescent aqueous ink of the present invention provides sufficient fluorescence and does not erase handwriting on non-carbon paper or cause discoloration on thermal paper is surmised as follows.

In other words, sorbitan has a stronger action of promoting the lake formation of the dye represented by the above general formula on the paper surface than polyethylene glycol, so it can provide sufficient fluorescence and, like polyethylene glycol, can be used on non-carbon paper and thermal paper. Since it does not affect the color former, it is presumed that it will not erase handwriting or cause discoloration.
