のである。

自走式クレーンは第1図に示す如く、車輌1上
に旋回調節自在に旋回台2を搭載すると共にこの
旋回台2にブーム3を起伏調節自在に配設してお
り、ブーム3の先端に荷物を吊りブーム3を起伏
並びに旋回(旋回台2を旋回させることで)させ
クレーン作業を行うものである。第1図において
4はブーム3の起伏調節用の油圧シリンダ、5は
ブーム3の旋回調節用の油圧モータ、6は車輌1
の前後に左右一対宛設けられたアウトリガジヤツ
キである。この種の自走式クレーンの吊上能力は
車輌1の安定度、ブーム2の起伏角度、ブーム2
の長さ(ブーム2が伸縮ブームの場合は伸縮量)
に応じて変動する。前記の車輌1の安定度は、ア
ウトリガジヤツキ6の接地、非接地の別および車
輌1に対するブームの旋回方向によつて異つてい
る。第1図の如き不整地用の自走式クレーンにあ
つては、車輌1の安定度は、車輌1の進行方向の
前方又は後方領域にブーム3が旋回しているとき
が最も高く、車輌1の側方領域にブーム3が旋回
しているときが最も低くなつており、このため前
方又は後方領域の吊上能力は側方領域のそれに比
べて大きくなつている。このように旋回領域毎に
吊上能力の異る自走式クレーンにおいて、ブーム
3を前方又は後方領域に旋回して、側方領域の吊
上能力を越える荷重を吊り上げてクレーン作業を
する場合クレーンの旋回台2が何等かの原因で不
用意に旋回しブーム3が側方領域に旋回した場合
は、自走式クレーンが転倒することになる。旋回
台2の不用意な旋回は、クレーンオペレータによ
る誤操作の他旋回油圧モータ5の故障(油洩れ
等)に起因して生ずる。このため、このような状
態でクレーン作業をする場合には、旋回ブレーキ
あるいはピン連結手段(図示せず)からなる解除
可能な旋回固定装置を設け、この旋回固定装置を
操作して旋回台2の旋回動ひいてはブーム3の旋
回動を不能にした上でクレーン作業を行うように
している。しかしながら、旋回固定装置の操作そ
のものをクレーンオペレータが忘れることがあ
り、不用意な旋回動を完全に避けるということは
出来ず、自走式クレーンの転倒事故の危険が常に
存在していた。
