Abstract
PURPOSE: To contrive the high quality that lines are not too thin at the time of enlargement printing by making a gate circuit OR shift raster data, generated by shifting raster data by a shift circuit with time, and the raster data and output the result. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with the shift circuit 8 which shifts the raster data (a) with time and the gate circuit 9 which ORs the raster data (a) and the shift raster data (b) obtained by the shift circuit 8. In enlargement mode, the output of a 1-bit delay circuit 8 which shifts the simply enlarged raster data (a) laterally by one bit with time, i.e., the shift raster data (b) becomes valid and ORed by the OR gate 9 with the unprocessed raster data (a), so the OR output (e) becomes a character which is made thick laterally by one bit. Consequently, a character form of high print quality is obtained when an enlarged character is generated from a small character font.
