Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent production of minute magnetic domain generated easily from both ends in a direction of magnetic sensitive track width by providing a hard magnetic material so as to be in contact with the vicinity or both ends in the broadwise direction of the magnetic sensitive track. CONSTITUTION:A lower insulation layer 3 is formed on a magnetic base 10 used in common with the shield film, the magneto-resistance effect film 1 is generated continuously to apply patterning. Then the hard magnetic film 4 is formed to apply patterning. The film thickness of the film 4 depends on the quantity of the self-energy of the film or the shape of head, but generally within a range of 20-200nm. Thus, the anti-magnetic field near both ends of the track is reduced by the leakage magnetic field from the hard magnetic material provided at both ends in the direction of magnetic sensitive track width to prevent the production of minute magnetic domain.
