Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyamic acid composition excellent in surface leveling effect and heat resistance, comprising a specified polyamic acid.
CONSTITUTION: A polyamic acid composition of formula I (wherein Ar1 is at least one group selected from among group of formulas II and III and the like groups, Ar2 is at least one group selected from among group formulas IV and V and the like groups, AR3 is at least one group selected from among groups of formulas VI and VII and the like group, and n is 1W100). Said composition is improved in smoothness by protecting the molecular ends with an end-capping agent having a capability of controlling an MW and by introducing an acid dianhydride or a diamine of a structure having rotatability and flexibility into the molecule. Furthermore, the heat resistance is improved by using a carbonamide group-containing diamine which forms a ladder structure in the molecule when converting said composition into a polyimide by heat curing.
