Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the title device light in weight having magnet shielding function by simplifying the cryostat composition by employing superconducting plates. CONSTITUTION:For a superconducting plate 8 in a radiation shield composed in a vacuum container, a material that shows superconducting state at 80K of liquid nitrogen temperature like superconducting ceramics composed of yttrium, barium, carbon and oxygen is used. The superconducting plate 8 is cooled by liquid nitrogen flowing in a cooling tube 9 and kept at superconducting state. As the superconducting plate 8 is in superconducting state, it shows Meissner effect that shields a magnetic field. Accordingly, when a magnet is enclosed with a tube consisting of superconducting plate 8 centering a superconducting magnet, the magnet field generated by the magnet can be shielded.
