Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to form a thermoplastic elastomer composition markedly improved in oil resistance, mechanical strengths and moldability without detriment to its weathering resistance and heat resistance, by mixing an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer rubber with a polyamide resin and a low-MW modified ethylene random copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: This thermoplastic elastomer composition is prepared by mixing an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer rubber (a) with a polyamide resin (b) and a low-MW modified ethylene random copolymer (c). The mixing ratio is such that a:b in 90:10W60:40 (by weight), and c is 0.5W150pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. (a+b). As said modified copolymer (c), one obtained by graft-polymerizing an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative with a low-MW ethylene random copolymer and having an intrinsic viscosity [η] (as determined in decalin at 135°C) in the range of 0.05W0.55 dl/g is used.
