Abstract

PURPOSE:To smoothly transfer a picture even access has been executed simultaneously from plural modalities, by connecting plural picture generating devices to plural picture storage devices through each independent network. CONSTITUTION:In a state that picture is stored in each optical disk (OD) 24a-24c of data bases (DB) 2a-2c, for instance, when picture-reading is started to the DB 2 from a work station (WS) 13a of a modality 1a, since the picture corresponding thereto is decentralized and stored in the DB 2, the picture concerned is transferred to each TMD (Temporal Magnetic Disc) 22a-22c of each DB 2a-2c, and thereafter, read out through each network 5a-5c. In this case, when the picture-reading is started to the DB 2 from a WS 13b of a modality 1b simultaneously, the corresponding picture is read out through each network 5a-5c. Accordingly, even if access is executed simultaneously from plural modalities 1a, 1b, the picture transfer can be executed smoothly without waiting either of them.
