Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute surface treatment having uniform quality by constituting the titled optical device by forming shape of focus plane of laser beam into shape partially containing parallel part and making uniform of distribution of laser intense at the focus plane. CONSTITUTION:After facing hole H in a work W laid on a work table 3 with a mirror supporting member 47, by descending a lifting bracket 45, the lower part of the member 47 is inserted in the hole H. Next, the laser beam LB is generated 5 under this condition, and after deforming the cross sectional shape of the beam LB into the parallel ray having square shape, it is made incident on a bent mirror 45 and further, reflected with the mirror 45, to irradiate inner peripheral face in the hole H. At the time of irradiating, by rotating the member 47 for driving a motor 77, the beam LB is made to one round of the inner peripheral face in the hole H. Therefore, the quenching can be executed to the inner peripheral face in the hole H. Further, by facing the member 47 to the outer peripheral face of the work W and irradiating the outer peripheral face by the beam LB while rotating the work W, the quenching can be executed to the outer peripheral face of the work W.
