Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the density of a tactile sensor by arraying photosensors consisting of light emitting elements and light receiving elements on a flexible printed board, connecting the row-directional light receiving elements in parallel and connecting column-directional light emitting elements in series, and providing a scanning circuit. CONSTITUTION:The photosensors 2 consists of the light emitting elements and light receiving elements are arrayed on the flexible printed board 1. Further, electronic components for scanning the photosensors 2, i.e. a column decoder 3 for selecting light emitting element columns, a row decoder 4 for selecting light receiving element rows, a driver 5 for turning on light emitting element columns, an analog multiplexer 6 for selecting output channels of the light receiving element rows, and an output amplifier 7 are provided on the board where no external force is applied. Thus, light receiving elements in one row are connected in parallel, but a column is selected to obtain the output of a photosensor 2 at a specific position in the matrix. Further, the columns and rows are scanned through the operation of the decoders 3 and 4 to detect the outputs of the photosensors 2 at the entire M-row, N-column array part in order. The density is therefore made high.
