Abstract
PURPOSE:To preclude misdetection due to dust, etc., by providing a rotor which is locked to a cam and has some tooth parts formed longer than other tooth parts, two magneto-resistance elements for detecting the quantity of rotation, etc., and one magneto-resistance element for detecting an initial position. CONSTITUTION:The rotor 5 is locked to the cam associated with a handle, has some tooth parts 5B formed longer than other tooth parts 5A, and is made of a magnetic material. Further, a sensor unit 8 consists of a couple of magneto- resistance elements 13A and 14B for detecting the quantity of rotation, etc., one magneto-resistance element 13C for detecting the initial position, pulse generating circuits 14A-14C for generating pulses from the detection signals of the elements 13A-13C, and a magnet 15. Then when the rotor 5 passes in the constant magnetic field produced by the magnet 15, the variation of the generated magnetic field is detected by the elements 13A and 13B and converted by the circuits 14A and 14B into pulse signals, which are transmitted to a controller to detect the quantity of rotation, etc. Further, the initial position is detected by the controller through the tooth parts 5B, element 13C, and circuit 14C.
