Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst capable of producing a highly stereo-regular polymer under a stable polymerization condition advantageously, consisting of a solid catalyst prepared from a solid component comprising Ti, etc., as essential components, a Si compound, an organoaluminum compound and a polymer silicon compound and an organoaluminum compound.
CONSTITUTION: A catalyst consisting of (A) a solid catalyst component obtained by bringing (i) a solid component (e.g. component comprising TiCl4, magnesium oxide and Al halide as essential components) containing Ti, Mg and a halide as essential components into contact with (ii) a Si compound [e.g. (CH3)Si(OCH3)3] shown by formula I (R1 and R2 are hydrocarbon residue; X is halogen; m and n are 0W3 and 0≤m+n≤3), (iii) an organoaluminum compound [e.g. Al(C2H5)3] and (iv) a polymer silicon compound (e.g. methylhydropolysiloxane) shown by formula II (R3 is hydrocarbon residue) and (B) an organoaluminum compound (e.g. trimethylaluminum).
