Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase an access processing speed with plural planes by producing the 1-bit data requested by a CPU out of the read-out plural-bit data forming a single picture element. CONSTITUTION:The pixel data 5-7 corresponding to the single picture element are read out of the memory planes (buffers) 1-3 respectively and inputted to a data extracting means 8. The means 8 extracts the data pointed by an arithmetic mode register 9 and stores it into a key plane 11. A CPU gives an access to the plane 11 and performs the necessary processing. Thus the CPU gives no direct access to the planes 1-3 and gives a direct access to the plane 11. Thus the data accordant with the request of the CPU is held by the plane 11 and a direct access is given to said data. As a result, the access processing speed is increased up to a level equivalent to that of a frame buffer of a single picture element plane.
