Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a resin composition retaining high heat resistance and good heat fusibility, outstanding in mechanical and electrical properties, useful for engineering plastics, comprising a wholly aromatic copolyester and polyetherimide.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprising (A) a wholly aromatic copolyester, pref. a heat fusible one of formula I (a, b and c≠0, b/c=0.9W1.1, n=0 or 1, pref. b=1 and n=1, also a/b=1.5W3.5) and (B) a polyetherimide, pref. constituted of recurring unit of formula II in such amounts as to be ≥20(pref. 60W97)wt.% and ≤80(pref. 40W3)wt.% for the components A and B, respectively, and furthermore, if needed, (C) such ingredients as antioxidant, thermal stabilizer, ultraviolet light absorber, filler, reinforcer, etc.
