Abstract
PURPOSE:To utilize the pattern of rust as the decorative pattern on the surface of a steel plate by degreasing the steel material or steel plate, immersing the same into an acid soln. to generate the rust on the surface of said steel plate in a short time, removing excess floating rust and thereafter applying transparent protective coating on the rust surface. CONSTITUTION:The steel material or steel plate is preliminarily subjected to the degreasing treatment by an NaOH soln., is subjected to a water washing treatment, is thereafter immersed, e.g., into a water soln. of hydrochloric acid having 15-20% concn. and is left for 15-30min to apply the surface of the steel material or steel plate to an acid dipping treatment. The steel plate, etc., taken from the acid soln. cell is washed by water for 1-3min at the ordinary temp. and is thereafter dried by air blowing, etc. Said steel material is successively left for 24-120hr naturally in a standing posture or horizontal posture. The rust in a grained pattern is generated when the steel plate is left in the standing posture and the rust in a pear-skin pattern is generated when it is left in the horizontal posture. At this time, void patterns 3 are produced by partially superimposing objects 2 on the surface of the steel plate or sticking a tape thereon. The rust surface is finally brushed by a soft brush, transpar ent clear lacquer is thereafter coated on the pattern of the rust surface into about 10-60mu thickness and a finishing treatment which protects and stabilizes the surface is executed thereon.
