Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title ink which has excellent printability, can be produced in large quantities, and is useful for decoration of the surface of a ceramic product and a glass product, application in the electronic industry, etc., by mixing a platinum pinene mercaptide, a metallic resinate, an organic binder, and a solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A solution of α- or β-pinene in a dilute sulfuric acid of e.g., a concentration of 32% is mixed with H2S to give α- or β-pinene mercaptan, which is then reacted with chloroplatinic acid (salt) to give a platinum mercaptide (A) having a platinum content of 20W30wt.%, such as platinum α- or β-pinene mercaptide. Component A is mixed with at least one metallic resinate (B) (e.g., rhodium resinate and/or bismuth resinate), an organic binder (C) selected from an alkyd resin, a urea resin, a rosin derivative resin, and a terpene resin, and a solvent (D) such as terpene alcohol.
