Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform desired paper feeding, by providing first and second paper- feeding means provided respectively at a front part and a rear part of a main body of a printer, and a driving means, and selectively feeding a paper by the first or second feeding means. CONSTITUTION:Where a smaller-width continuous form paper 6 is inserted into an inserting port 5 of a main body 43 of a printer from the front side whereas a larger-width continuous form paper is inserted into the main body 43 from the rear side, one of the continuous form papers is printed while the other is maintained in a waiting condition. When a switch lever 4 is tilted to the back side, namely, the rear side, a tractor shaft 34 is rotated, and a rear tractor 9 is driven, whereby the continuous form paper 7 is printed by a printing head 22, and is fed forward by the tractor 9. Next, with the lever 4 titled to the front side, the small-width paper 6 is fed upward on the front side of a platen 10 by a feeding-function of a tractor 8 and by the function of a guide plate 26 for the platen 10.
