Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent paper jamming and avoid wasting the first sheet of paper at the start of printing, by providing a paper-pressing guide for guiding by pushing a paper rearward, between a printing part and a paper-discharging port. CONSTITUTION:A paper 18 is guided in the state of being curved upward by a tip part 17a of a guide plate 17, and is fed between a ribbon cassette 19 and a platen 16. A horizontally elongated plate-shaped paper-pressing guide 20 is attached to a rear surface of the cassette 19, and the paper 18 being printed is guided between an upper roller 21 and a lower roller 22 while being pushed rearward by the guide 20. Further, a horizontally elongate plate-shaped paper-pressing guide 23 is attached to the tip of an upper cover 14 in the state of being slanted downward, whereby the paper 18 clamped between the upper and lower rollers 21 and 22 is guided toward a paper-discharging port 15 while being pushed rearward somewhat askew. Therefore, the paper 18 is prevented from being caught by a tip part of the upper cover 14 at the time of discharging.
