Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically, easily and highly accurately position a panel by finding out a deviation between a reference point calculated on a driver substrate and a panel positioning point and driving an XYθ table in accordance with the deviation.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel 10 on which a 1st positioning point is marked is carried to the driver substrate 14 on which 2nd positioning points A, B are marked by a carrying mechanism 11 and these points are irradiated with light from light sources 19, 20. The points are photographed by a CCD camera 32 and a reference point for the panel 10 is found out from the positions of the points A, B by a calculation part 41. Then a deviation between the reference point and a point on the panel is found out by a deviation calculating part 42 and the camera 32 and the XYθ table 30 is driven through a driving part 31 based upon the deviation. Consequently the positioning of the panel 10 and the substrate 14 can be automatically, easily and highly accurately executed.
