Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize specified heating, soaking, and cooling patterns while keeping a desired fuel-rich combustion atmosphere in the title furnace by providing a cooler, a flow control value, etc., to a gas circulating duct between the furnace for a sliding jig made of cast iron and an auxiliary combustion chamber provided in the exhaust gas flue of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:A gaseous fuel is burned by the burner 4 of a main furnace body 1 into the fuel-rich atmosphere to form the atmosphere in the furnace, and the jig 7 in the furnace is simultaneously heated. The auxiliary combustion chamber 17 is provided at the terminal of the exhaust gas flue 16 of the furnace 1, the gas circulating duct 25 is furnished between the chamber 17 and the furnace 1, and the gas cooler 26, a gas circulating fan 27, and a circulating gas flow control valve 29 are provided to the duct 25. The burner 4 is set in the soaking and cooling stages at the lowest combustion load capable of maintaining the inside of the furnace 1 in the fuel-rich combustion atmosphere. The combustion gas with the controlled atmosphere is further generated by a burner 18 in the chamber 17, passed through the duct 25, cooled by the cooler 26, and introduced into the furnace 1. At this time, the temp. in the furnace 1 is controlled by controlling the circulating gas flow rate by the control valve 29.
