Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a high tensile non-oriented electrical steel sheet by hot rolling a low carbon-content steel slab, coiling the steel sheet at the specific temp. to be determined by the relation between the hot rolled sheet and the sheet thickness and subjecting the sheet further to cooling and annealing under specific conditions, then subjecting the sheet to cold rolling and final finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:The steel slab contg., by weight %, <0.01% C, 2.0-3.5% Si, 0.1-10.0% Mn, <0.20% P, 0.10-1.50% Al, and <0.008% B, or further <6.0% Ni is hot rolled. The hot rolled sheet is coiled at the temp. CT deg.C expressed by the equation I in the relation with the thickness t(mm) of the hot rolled sheet. Cooling is started within 5hr after the end of the coiling and the sheet is cooled at >=100 deg.C/hr cooling rate down to 300 deg.C and is held without annealing or is annealed for 5sec-15min in a 500-1,000 deg.C range. After such sheet is cold rolled to form the steel sheet having a desired thickness, the sheet is subjected to the finish annealing for 5sec-15min at 700-900 deg.C, by which the non-oriented electrical steel sheet having the excellent strength and magnetic characteristics is obtd.
