Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover Ru in high yield by alkalinizing the strong acid aq. soln. having the specific compsn. contg. Ru by the addition of the hydroxides of alkali metals, successively blowing C gas thereto and distilling said soln., thereby volatilizing and separating contained Ru as RuO4.
CONSTITUTION: In the separation and recovery of Ru from the soln. of hydrochloric acid, aqua regia and nitric acid contg. the noble metals except Os, base metals and Ru, NaOH, KOH, etc., are added to said strong acid soln. to alkalinize it to >11 pH. The vessel contg. said soln. is charged to a water bath of 70W80°C and the mixed gas of air and chroline is blown into the soln. in the vessel to distill and separate Ru as RuO4, thereby recovering Ru in high recovery.
