Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce the titled castings by sticking ceramics powders on the surface of a three dimensional network structural body consisting of a lost-foam material, sintering it, losing the lost-foam material, subjecting metallic plating on the remaining three dimensional network structural body and thereafter casting the molten metal into the network body.
CONSTITUTION: The synthetic resin such as ester polyurethane, etc., is foamed to form the three dimensional network structural body and the ceramics powders of cordierite, alumina, etc., are converted to slurry. Said slurry is impregnated and stuck on the surface of the skelton of the foamed body, is dried and thereafter sintered, by which the porous body 22 consisting of the three dimensional network structural body by the ceramic material 3 and the resin foamed body is simultaneously lost in a high temp. The plating layer 35 such as Ni, Cr, etc., is formed on the surface of the skelton 34 of said ceramic porous body 22 by electroless plating and the porous body 32 is thereafter charged to the casting cavity 20 of a mold 10. The molten metal 26 of cast iron, cast steel, etc., is cast into the cavity from a pouring gate 30, by which the fluid permeable castings having continuous pores 36 are produced.
