Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a titled product which prevents rust formation and chipping of ceramics by pouring a molten metal between the skeleton structures of a porous ceramics body in a casting mold, polishing the resulted casting to open pores on the surface and applying a metal plating on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The porous ceramics body 22 having the three-dimensional network structure is set in the cavity 20 of the casting mold 10 and the molten metal 26 is poured into the cavity and is packed between the structures of the hollow skeleton 34 in which the open holes 36 are formed. The casting is taken out of the mold 10 upon solidification of the molten metal 26. This casting is subjected to polishing, etc., to open the holes 36 in the exposed surface 38 of the skeleton 34 of the porous body 22, by which the casting 32 having the surface 38 opened with the holes 36 toward the outside is obtd. The casting 32 is then subjected to the metal plating and is coated with a metal plating layer 42 to about 5mu thickness in such a manner that the plating intrudes down to the prescribed depth in the opened holes 36 to form the integral structure over the entire surface of the hole-exposed surface 38. Good corrosion resistance is thereby imparted to the hole-exposed part where rust is easily formable.
