Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a reflector from deteriorating function due to snowfall in winter and to improve reception efficiency by composing of an antenna of a parabolic hollow reflector where liquid which changes in phase is charged and an antenna unit, and providing a heat source device below the reflector and a wick on the internal wall on the side of the antenna unit.
CONSTITUTION: A controller 11 decides the outside air condition of snowfall with the signal of an outside air temperature and humidity detector 13 and the heat source device 8 is supplied with electric power under set condition. Consequently, the liquid 7 in the reflector 4 vaporizes and rises as gas in a hollow part 6. This gas heats the side wall surface of the antenna unit 5 uniformly to melt snow lying on the external wall of the reflector 4 and returns to the heat source device 8 along the wick 9. The controller 11 adjusts the input to the heat source device 8 so that the set temperature where the snow melts is reached. Consequently, the wall surface of the reflector which is covered with the snow can be heated uniformly, so the snow can be molten over the entire surface of the reflector and then the reception efficiency of the antenna is increased. Further, the internal wall of the hollow reflector on the side of the antenna device is so constituted that the gas emits its heat and is condensed into liquid, which falls down speedily, thereby utilizing the heating value obtained by the heat source device effectively.
