Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering in the material quality of an implant main body, by engaging a segment consisting of a porous layer and a backup plate with the hole provided to the implant main body and allowing a porous layer fixing plate having the opening engaging with the porous layer to cover the porous layer segment to engage the same with the hole of the implant main body and fixing the peripheral edge thereof to the implant main body.
CONSTITUTION: Stepped holes 5a, 5b are provided to each of the front and back surfaces of an implant main body 1 and the backup plate 4 made of a titanium alloy of porous layers 3 made of titanium alloy beads is engaged with the hole 5b and a porous layer fixing plate 2 is engaged with the hole 5a. A plurality of openings 6 are provided to the porous layer fixing plate 2 by drilling and the porous layers 3 composed of titanium alloy beads are engaged with the openings 6. The porous layers 3 mounted to the backup plate 4 are mounted to the implant main body 1 by engaging the backup plate 4 with the hole 5b and engaging the porous layer fixing plate 2 with the hole 5a and subsequently fixing the periphery of said plate 2 to the implant main body 1 by electron beam welding 7. By this method, since the porous layers 3 are perfectly independent of the implant main body 1, the lowering in the fatique strength of the implant main body 1 apprehended by providing the porous layers 3 can be eliminated.
