PURPOSE:To stabilize continuous casting by arranging cooling metal plate having casing part at both side edge contacting with circulating bodies and arranging heat insulating layer between the casing part and refractory. CONSTITUTION:The cooling metal plates 8 having the casing part 9 as the short side plates 4, 5 are arranged to the circulating bodies composing of the metal belts 1, 2. Then, the heat insulating layer 12 composing of porous refractory having more excellent heat insulating property than the refractory 10 is arranged between the casing part 9 and refractory 10. By this method, it the effect of cooling at the casing part 9 extending to the refractory 10 is prevented. Therefore, as solidification of the molten steel by the refractory 10 is surely prevented, the continuous casting for cast strip is stably executed.
