Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent displacement of the core of a moving body during clamping and to improve processing precision, by a method wherein a voltage fed to a piezoelectric element situated on an opposing surface between the moving body and a support member is controlled by a displacement gauge member to detect relative displacement between the moving body and the support member. CONSTITUTION:A voltage fed to a control unit 12 according to a clamp command is applied on a piezoelectric element 10, and a sleeve 3 is pushed in the direction of an axis for clamping. The clamping causes radial displacement of the sleeve 3, and a signal responding to a displacement amount is outputted to a control unit 13 by means of a displacement gauge 11 to calculate a displacement amount. Prestored numeric values in the directions of an X-axis and an Y-axis, in which the sleeve 3 and the main spindle are positioned concentrically to each other, are compared with each other, and a signal proportioning an error is outputted to the control unit 12. The control unit 12 feeds a voltage matching the signal for changing a displacement amount of the piezoelectric element 10, and the sleeve 3 is moved to the center side in a radial direction, and the sleeve 3 is held concentrically to the main spindle.
