Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the quality of a welded zone by oscillating an electron beam in the orthogonal direction to the welding proceeding direction at the same time while oscillating it in the welding proceeding direction and further, stopping the oscillation for a while at both edges of the oscillation.
CONSTITUTION: The electron beam 3 is oscillated in the welding proceeding direction 5 and in the orthogonal direction 6 to the welding proceeding direction respectively by an electromagnetic deflecting coil 4. At that time, the oscillation is carried out by a triangular wave or a sine wave with several hundredsWseveralkHz and a rectangular wave or a trapezoidal wave with severalWseveral hundreds kHz in the welding proceeding direction 5 and in the orthogonal direction 6 to the welding proceeding direction respectively. By this method, the penetration of the welded zone is deepened and the quality of the welded zone can be improved.
