Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize the characteristics of a resistor as well as to contrive improvement in the life performance under applied voltage of the title resistor by a method wherein a glass ingredient is diffused in a nonlinear voltage resistor. CONSTITUTION:Bi2O3, Co2O3, MnO2, Sb2O3, Cr2O3 and SiO2 of 0.01-10mol%, for example, are added to ZnO powder, and the material having the remaining part consisting of ZnO is provided, the material is mixed, granulated, molded and sintered. Then, bismuth borosilicate glass paste is screen-printed on both plane surfaces which become the electrode forming part of said calcinated body, and it is sintered at the temperature of 1000-1300 deg.C. Subsequently, both surfaces of the sintered body 1 is polished, and an electrode 2 is formed by a flame sprying method. As a result, the life performance under applied voltage of the title resistor can be improved in spite of the electrode being of the flame spraying of metal.
