Abstract

PURPOSE:To enlarge an editing operation range which can be allowed in a post-editing while maintaining a corresponding relation between an original sentence and a translated sentence by defining a processing unit at the time of editing a document to be not a character unit but a clause unit. CONSTITUTION:A clause contents changing means 10 for changing the contents of the clause of the stored translated sentence is disposed between a translated sentence storing means 4 and a clause identifying means 5. A cursor control means 11 operated by operating a keyboard 1 and controlling the movement of the cursor on a CRT 2 for the clause unit is provided. In such a way, since the post-editing operation is executed as the clause unit, the corresponding relation between the original sentence and the translated sentence is easily and constantly maintained during the post-editing operation and a free editing can be executed in the post-editing without discriminating the post-editing and the free editing. Namely, according to the introduction of an editing function for the clause unit, the editing operation which can be allowed in the post- editing is increased and a constraint can be reduced.
