Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent battery overdischarge at the time of cold starting stopping current energization to a heater when temperature of an oxygen sensor is less than the specified value, in case of a device which performs air-fuel ratio feedback control using an oxygen sensor with heater. CONSTITUTION:An ignition signal out of a distributor 36 is inputted into a control unit 24 together with each detected value of an intake air temperature sensor 21, an air flow meter 23, a water temperature sensor 27, an oxygen sensor 29 with a heater, etc., and it heats the oxygen sensor 29 with the heater at the time of low load and low engine speed, making air-fuel ratio feedback possible to be done. That is, the control unit 24 performs a current energization to the heater at a time when water temperature is more than about 20 deg.C, engine speed is less than about 4500r.p.m. or intake air quantity is less than the setting value, not in cranking. When it is in the cranking or the water temperature is lower than about 20 deg.C, the current energization to the heater is stopped.
