Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the feeding oil pressure, by connecting an oil pressure feeding route, which is used in common for an oil pressure chamber in a connection switching mechanism for cam followers, and a hydraulic tappet, and equipping this oil pressure feeding route with a hydraulic switching means. CONSTITUTION:An oil pressure feeding route 31, which is used in common for an oil pressure chamber 29 in a connection switching mechanism 10 for cam followers 7, 8, 9, and a hydraulic tappet, is connected. This oil pressure feeding route 31 is equipped with the first oil route 52, formed with the first relief valve 56 adapted to relieve the oil pressure when the oil pressure becomes over the high preset pressure, and the second oil route 53, formed with the second relief valve 57 adapted to relieve the oil pressure when the oil pressure becomes over the low preset pressure. The first oil route 52, a restriction 54 and the second oil route 53 are switched by a hydraulic switching valve 50. In this way, as the upper limit of the high oil pressure and that of the low oil pressure can be decided, the oil pressure can be stabilized.
