Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust white balance by calculating a coefficient for white balance adjustment based on a standard white color by a control calculator and interposing a data converter converting the data by the coefficient between an A/D converter and a memory. CONSTITUTION:A color separation circuit 2 receives a white color composite signal outputted when a referenced standard white color is picked up by a color camera 1 as an input signal and separates it into 3 primary color signals R, G, B. The separated analog signal is converted into a digital signal by A/D converters 3R, 3G, 3B and fetched as they are in memories 5R, 5G, 5B without being converted by data converters 4R, 4G, 4B at first. A control calculator 8, based on the standard white color, calculates the coefficient for white balance and gives an output to the convertors 4R-4B and the data converted by the coefficient is stored in the memories 5R-5B. Thus, the white balance is adjusted.
