Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a natural composite image by equalizing the color signal level of a main image to the color signal level of a subordinate image. CONSTITUTION:A color burst signal contained in the composite video signal of the main image and a color burst signal contained in the composite video signal constituting the subordinate image are fetched from 1st and 2nd burst gate circuit 36 and 37 and applied to a comparator 38 respectively. Here, the amplitude levels of the two kinds of the color burst signals are compared with each other and the comparison output is sent out to a VCA circuit 39. Then the VCA circuit 39 varies the gain according to the output of the comparator 38 and eqalizes the amplitude of the color burst signal of the subordinate image to the amplitude of the color burst signal of the main image. Consequently, there is no difference in color saturation between the main image and subordinate images of a composite image, which becomes natural.
