Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the parallel processing efficiency by stopping the working of a processing element PE set at one side and making this stopped PE start to obtain a new solution when it is estimated that the solutions obtained by a simulated annealing method are converged onto the same solution. CONSTITUTION:Plural processing elements PE10-1n-1 work in parallel with each other and solve the combined problems by a simulated annealing method respectively. The interim solutions obtained by those PEs are compared with each other via a comparison unit 3. When the resemblance of the interim solutions of different PEs exceeds the fixed threshold value and the possibility where these interim solutions are gradually approximate to the those PEs producing the similar interim solutions for starting a job to obtain a new solution or the simulation temperature is increased. Thus it is possible to improve the availability of the PEs working in parallel with each other.
