Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent retrieval from being omitted, by re-transmitting a multiple address packet when no multiple address packet is received by a reception station normally and no retrial packet is returned from the reception station. CONSTITUTION:A transmission station A transmits the multiple address packet to which information to be retrieved is inserted with a control bit (NAK)=0. And when the multiple packet is rounded a ring at NAK=0 without changing, the transmission station A judges the multiple address packet as the normal reception of data being represented in the multiple address packet by every reception station, and waits the return transmission of a retrieval response packet from the reception station for a prescribed time. Since the reception station B has the information which coincides with sent information to be retrieved in the multiple address packet, the station inserts the information in the retrieval response packet, and returns the packet to the transmission station A via the ring. The transmission station A receives the retrieval response packet from the reception station B, then, completes the retrieval. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the omission of the retrieval from being generated.
