PURPOSE: To obtain a heat transfer tube having a high performance with excellent heat transfer and substance movement by providing many grooves in a direction different from a direction in which an absorption liquid flows on an inner surface of the tube. CONSTITUTION: Grooves 21 are provided on an inner wall 2 of a tube body 1 of the heat transfer tube used for the absorber. A sectional shape of the groove 21 provided on the wall 21 of the tube is, for example, a truncated shape, other triangular shape, rectangular shape, semicircular shape or the like, and is annular or spiral state in a direction of a circumference of the tube. In the transfer tube, flowing absorption liquid is stayed in deep grooves to aid a Maragoni convection. And since grooves perpendicular to the flow are provided, the liquid is vigorously agitated, and hence both heat transfer and substance movement are largely expedited.
