Abstract

PURPOSE: To attempt the simplification of a pump driving mechanism by forming a pump driving cam monolithically with the part o a balancer shaft connecting mutually and monolithically an unbalanced weight of a balancer arranged in parallel with a crank shaft so as to allow said cam to drive a pump.
CONSTITUTION: A balancer driving gear 10 is monolithically coupled with the tip end of the crank shaft 7 of a straight multi-cylinder engine 1 so as to allow the balancer gear 12 of a balancer 11 arranged in parallel with the crank shaft 7 to be meshed with said gear 10. This constitution thereby enables the rotation of the crank shaft 7 to rotate the balancer 11 at an equal revolving speed to the reverse direction. And a fuel pump driving cam 15 is provided at the center section of the shaft section 13 of the aforesaid balancer 11 so as to arrange a fuel pump 20 for a balancer cover 19 while being positioned at the outside of the cam 15. Then, the rotation of the cam 15 allows the push rod of the fuel pump 20 to be reciprocated via a slipper 27 so as to actuate thereof for discharging fuel after intake.
