Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain higher transmittance, lower resistance and higher chemical stability by forming a transparent electrode layer to be provided to either of display electrodes or counter electrode into two-layered structure consisting of an ITO film and 'NESA(R)' film and positioning the 'NESA(R)' film to an electrolyte layer side. CONSTITUTION:An ITO film 2 is formed on a glass substrate 1 for display electrodes (working electrodes) and this ITO film 2 is coated by the NESA film 3; further, an electrochromic layer 4 is formed on the NESA film 3. The ITO film 2 and the NESA film 3 are also separately provided in the case of provided the electrochromic layer 4 separately to >=2 points and controlling the same separately. The transparent electrode layer is formed of the two- layered structure consisting of the ITO film 2 and the NESA film 3. The ITO film 8 is further formed on a glass substrate 7 for the counter electrode as well and the NESA film 9 is formed thereon. The electrolyte 6 is sealed into the space between both. The lower surface resistance, the higher transmittance and the higher chemical stability are thereby simultaneously attained.
