Seat covers made of a base fabric and urethane foam, which is a resilient material, often have uneven parts for patterns. When forming this pattern, conventionally, as shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, a sheet consisting of a base fabric 4 and a urethane foam 5 having a predetermined thickness is placed between an upper mold 1 and a lower mold 2. A cover 3 was inserted, and the entire seat cover 3 was formed into an uneven shape. However, a space is formed below the convex portion 3a of the seat cover 3, and the lower surface position of the convex portion 3a and the lower surface position of the concave portion 3b are different, and the pattern formed on the seat cover 3 is different from the convex portion 3a. The part 3a collapsed due to deformation, etc., and the intended purpose could not be achieved. Furthermore, as shown in FIG.
When the form 5 is left uncompressed, the convex portion 3a
The disadvantage was that the corners could not be finished at the desired sharp angle.

An object of the present invention is to easily obtain an uneven pattern on the surface of a seat cover, and to prevent deformation of the convex portions of the formed pattern due to the presence of elastic material packed in the convex portions. The purpose of this invention is to provide a pattern forming method for a seat cover that can reliably form the corners of the convex portions at sharp angles, which will become clear from the detailed description below with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 2A schematically shows an embodiment of a mold for carrying out the method of molding a pattern for a seat cover according to the present invention, and this mold has a shape corresponding to the convex portion 17a of the pattern to be molded. an upper mold 11 which is a first mold in which a concave groove 12 is formed;
The upper mold 11 and the lower mold 13 are moved relative to each other by a drive mechanism (not shown). It is designed so that it can be approached closely.

While the upper mold 11 and the lower mold 13 are being opened, a sheet cover 17, which is a material, is inserted in a predetermined relationship. This seat cover 17 is integrally formed with a base fabric 18 made of a normal material such as leather, a synthetic resin material, or a synthetic resin material with appropriate flocking, and a urethane foam 19 made of an elastic material. A normal one is used, but a multilayer seat cover with a backing material etc. arranged on the back side of the urethane foam 19 can also be used.

When the groove 12 of the upper die 11 is long, a pair of protrusions 14 formed on the lower die 13 may be formed facing each other along the longitudinal direction. If it is formed into a rectangular or circular shape, the hollow protrusion 14 is formed along the rectangular or circular shape. Further, the protrusions 14 are not limited to being formed in a series along the edge of the groove 12, but a plurality of protrusions 14 may be formed at intervals along the edge.

Next, as shown in FIG. 2B, the seat cover 17 is pressed by bringing the upper mold 11 and the lower mold 13 relatively close to each other, and the urethane foam 19 facing the protrusion 14 of the lower mold 13 is pressed. While applying pressure,
The seat cover 17 is press-fitted into the groove 12 of the upper mold 11. Note that the tips of the protrusions 14 do not reach the bottom of the grooves 12, but are formed with a predetermined spacing in the same manner as the protrusions 14 are formed with a predetermined spacing from the side surfaces of the grooves 12. .

As shown in Figure C, the corners of the convex portion 17a of the seat cover 17 are formed sharply by the protruding portion 14, and a desired pattern filled with urethane foam, which is a resilient material, is formed in the convex portion 17a. You can get a new seat cover. This seat cover is attached to a cushion member made of an elastic material by adhesive or other method.

The above is an outline of one embodiment of the method for forming a pattern for a seat cover according to the present invention. According to such a method, an uneven pattern can be easily formed on the surface of a seat cover. Since the convex portions of the pattern are filled with elastic material, there is no deformation of the convex portions of the pattern, and the corners of these convex portions can be reliably formed into sharp angles.

1. A method for forming a predetermined uneven pattern on the surface of a seat cover composed of a base fabric on the front side and an elastic material having a predetermined thickness bonded to the back side of the base fabric, a first mold having a groove corresponding to the convex part of the pattern; and a second mold having a protrusion inserted into a position close to the side and bottom surface of the groove; The inner side of the protruding part of the mold is formed into a hollow shape, and the seat cover is placed between the first mold and the second mold so that the base fabric on the front side of the seat cover faces the first mold. by pressing the seat cover with the first mold and the second mold relatively close to each other, the seat cover is pressed into the recess of the first mold by the protrusion of the second mold. Press fit into the groove, form a recess in the outer part of the groove of the first mold, form a convex part in the inner part of the groove, and obtain a pattern filled with elastic material in the convex part. A pattern forming method for a seat cover, which is characterized by being carried out.
