Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the degree of adhesion, aesthetic characteristics, etc., of a thin, multilayered, and colored pattern film, by forming a metal plating film on the vapor-deposited film formed on the surface of a base material and then etching the metal plating film along a masking pattern. CONSTITUTION:A vapor-deposited film 2 of TiN, TiC, etc., having the desired color tone is formed on the surface of a base material 1 by means of ion plating, etc. Then, a metal plating film 3 having a color tone dissimilar to that of the vapor-deposited film 2 is formed on the vapor-deposited film 2 by means of electroless plating, etc. A masking material 4 is provided onto the metal plating film 3 and the etching of the metal plating film is carried out along the masking pattern, and then, the masking material is removed. By this method, the formed body of multilayered and colored pattern film in which the vapor- deposited film 2 and the metal plating film 3 are arranged in the prescribed pattern can be obtained. If the vapor-deposited film 2 and the metal plating film 3 are properly laminated, a multicolored pattern of two or more colors can be formed.
