Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the seizure damage on sliding surfaces by providing a passage feeding the lubricating oil from an oil sump section provided on the anti-lap side of a fixed scroll to sliding sections of fixed and rotary scroll members.
CONSTITUTION: A discharge chamber 31 is provided on the anti-lap side of the end plate 1 of a fixed scroll 3, and an oil sump section 61 is formed around the center thick section 58. The lubricating oil 20 accumulated at the bottom of a chamber 13 is fed to the sliding surfaces of bearings 9a, 4a through an oil lifting hole 19 and oil feed holes 21, 22 by the centrifugal force of the shaft rotation then sent out to a discharge chamber 31 from a back pressure chamber 25 via a discharge port 16 in a mist state. The lubricating oil is separated from this mixture of the refrigerant gas and lubricating oil by an oil separating element 39 or the like and accumulated in the oil sump 61. Part of it is directly fed to the sliding surfaces of the end plates 1, 4 of the rotary scroll and the fixed scroll and the sliding section between the tip of each lap and the mating bottom section or the like through oil feed holes 70W73 provided in the end plate 1 of the fixed scroll 3, thus the seizure damage of these sliding sections is prevented.
