Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition having excellent mechanical strength, heat resistance, moldability, dimensional stability, and marr resistance, and reduced anisotropy, by mixing a specified copolyester with an inorganic filler. CONSTITUTION:Polyester terephthalate (a), a bisphenol (b), terephthalic acid (c), and p-hydroxybenzoic acid (d) are polymerized in the presence of a catalyst to give a copolyester (A) consisting of 3-15mol.% unit of formula I, 5-30mol.% unit of formula II, a unit of formula II, wherein the molar ratio of the unit of formula III to the unit of formula II is 0.8-1.1, and 30-85mol.% unit of formula IV. 100pts.wt. component A is mixed with 1-400pts.wt. inorganic filler (B) selected from a laminar filler such as talc or mica, a fibrous filler such as glass fiber or gypsum fiber, a needle-like filler such as wollastonite, a quartz powder or a glass powder, and a colloidal filler such as precipitated CaCO3 having a mean particle diameter of 1.0mum or smaller.
