Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a small, lightweight and economical electromagnetic locking device which is made to be a locking state by a manual operation and is made to be a release state by a small exciting ampere-turns, by attaching a permanent magnet caused by which a second magnetic flux is cancelled by a first magnetic flux caused by current in a winding to release a locking state. CONSTITUTION:In a release state, only a second magnetic flux 11 flows which is caused by a permanent magnet 11. Under this condition, when the hand operated section 5b of a movable core 5 is pushed by a hand in the pushing direction 8, a locking rod 7 is inserted into a hole section 6 for locking, thereby the device becomes a locking state. This locking state is held through the second magnetic flux 11 against the energized force of a spring 9. Next, a first magnetic flux 4 is so caused by current in an electric winding 3 as to cancel the second magnetic flux 11, which releases the locking state to make the device to return to the former state. As a result, the locking state is released by a small exciting ampere-turns, which enables the device to be small, lightweight and economical.
