Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a pulse generating circuit containing a pulse width varying function on an IC chip by using an inverter and a transmission gate or a clocked inverter, a capacitor and an AND gate, etc. CONSTITUTION:The electric charge stored in a capacitor 15 is discharged to a 1st inverter 3 only even though an input signal A is set at H as long as only a 1st transmission gate 7 is kept turned on. Then the signal A is changed to H and the outputs of inverters 3-6 are changed to L when gates 7-10 are turned on. Under such conditions, the electric charge stored in a capacitor 15 is discharged through inverters 3-6. Therefore, the discharge time constant is equal to 1/n first value. In case the output and the input of the gate 7 are supplied to both inputs of an AND gate 16, the output pulse width of the gate 16 varies by an extent equal to the difference of the time constant.
