Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the overall size of a printing mechanism and to facilitate the changeability of a ribbon cassette with an arm by providing the ribbon cassette, an idler pulley, a print head, etc. CONSTITUTION:The printing mechanism 60 consists of the ribbon cassette 64a with an arm 64a1 for ribbon extraction which contains a ribbon 64c and a mutual distance tau, the idler pulley 64a for holding the ribbon 64c at an interval of specific width delta, and the print head, i.e. a wire dot head 64b. Then when the cassette 64a is set through a receiving hole 64a2, a reed part in the receiving hole 64a2 is coupled with a ribbon feed motor 64f through a gear 64e. Namely, the ribbon 64c is loaded through the cassette 64a, but the cassette 64a is held in the hand and hooked to the pulley 64a and the cassette 64a is pulled to the right and latched in the receiving hole 64a. Thus, the printing operation of the head 64b is performed in the middle between the upper and lower parts of the ribbon 64c. Therefore, the mechanism 60 is reduced in size and the changeability of the cassette 64a is improved.
