Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a thermally sprayed film having chemical resistance, by forming a thermally sprayed film having pores of sufficient size on a surface to be treated and then subjecting the pores to filling and sealing treatment. CONSTITUTION:A surface to be treated is formed into rough surface by the application of grit blasting, etc., on which a thermally sprayed film having pores with a size sufficient to let a filler in without resistance is formed. Subsequently, a sealant with <=about 1poise viscosity is applied to the pores in the film to carry out filling and sealing. Further, it is desirable that pores of >=about 5mum diameter are uniformly distributed at a rate of >=about 6N/cm<2> all over the surface in the thermally sprayed film. By this method, the thermally sprayed film having chemical resistance and capable of withstanding severe corrosive environment can be formed.
